What’s in an aura? Why the energy around you matters

The concept of auras has become quite mainstream over the years, though many still consider this area relegated to the skills of a few psychics and the impressive display of auric photography.

What is an aura, really? And how might you access your perceptive skills to better know yourself and others?

What is an aura?

Many of us know we are more than just our physical forms, we are energy as well, anyone who has ever seen a dead body can attest to the difference. Our physical forms have an electrical, energetic component, which is well documented by ancient systems of medicine like acupuncture and more modern measurement tools like those used at the heart math institute.

Reading an aura is not just a fun party trick, it’s something that can help you know more about yourself and others. We can often see the truth about ourselves more clearly in energy than how we might perceive it in our everyday conscious awareness. Our energy field shows us the reality outside our rational mind that exists beyond our intellectual control.

Are you healthy in your expression? Are you carrying negativity? Are some parts of you open, while others shut down?

Energy doesn’t lie. And the truth is, many of us already read auras without even realizing it.

What am I seeing?

There are many depictions of the auric field in new age literature and art work. A haze of beautiful colors, filled with light. Nature gives us great references with the beauty of rainbows and the aurora borealis. If you’ve ever seen the northern lights, you know that they are dynamic, they are moving and changing all the time, just like our auric fields.

While some may see the aura in a visual, clairvoyant manner, it’s not the only way you might be reading this energy signature. In our foundational course, Level One, we work with our students to perceive an aura in meditation first, knowing that seeing through the physical eyes takes practice.

Some people are more visceral than visual and might sense or feel the aura colours clairsentiently, often mapping what they are sensing on their own bodies.

Those with clairaudient gifting can hear tones or music coming off an aura. Some people interpret an aura by reading someone’s face, or just by having a strong knowing about what is going on in their energy. There is no one system to read energy.

But what does it mean?

It’s one thing to be able to sense an aura, but what does it mean?  The art of interpretation is an important aspect of developing your energy awareness. There are many books and websites out there that will give you a map of what each color means, but there are nuances that might ignore your specific system of reading energy.

When we teach aura and energy reading we don’t impose any kind of system on you, instead we are there to help you understand your own gifting, that way you don’t have to rely on any external system. This is key to help you to foster trust in yourself as your open up your gifts, the more you practice, the more you’ll recognize the language of energy.

Having an awareness of your energy field can help keep you healthy and connected to the spiritual aspects of yourself! As you learn to read others, you can offer healing insight and understand more about the people in your life.

Energy matters and fostering your systems of perception can bring a rich wisdom to you life.
